Randomised Header…

Oh, by the way, I couldn’t decide on which header image to use this time around so I’ve set it on random – so if it looks different each time you look at my page it’s because there are now four images to choose from… 🙂

Sorbet Rides Again…

After three months with the unfussy face of Twenty Fifteen as my blog theme, I feel it’s time to say thank you and farewell, and welcome back to good old Sorbet. twentyfifteen-theme

It’s not exactly as it was before, but nevertheless it’s back… To my surprise I found that the more time passed, the more I missed it, so here we are again! 🙂

New Blog Theme – Take 3

Thanks to Sheena from Not a Punk Rocker for finding the answer to my post title font size problem – it seems that with the Twenty Fifteen theme standard posts have a different post title size assigned than to galleries and images, and because I’m the one who randomly assigns the status of each post on a whim – depending on, for example, how much text is included, and how many images, what kind of mood I’m in and whether or not I remembered to check in the first place – what initially looked like a random allocation of large and small font sizes is actually nothing to do with the theme playing up, it’s ME who’s the unknown variable in this equation! Oops!

So having thought about it, I’ve reinstated poor old Twenty Fifteen and will just have to learn either to live with the font size anomoly or just leave everything posted as standard… I do like the simplicity of this theme, and it feels more like ‘me’ than Misty Lake, which looks nice but feels too neat and smart for me for everyday use – it makes me feel a bit like when I have to wear a smart skirt and shoes with heels to a job interview or something and pretend to be a grown up, responsible adult for once…

Misty-Lake-ThemeSo it’s thank you and goodbye to the very short-lived Misty Lake, and hello again to Twenty Fifteen… well, for now, at least! Phew, what a day! 🙂

New Blog Theme – Take 2…

Well that’s been a stressful couple of hours trying to find a blog theme I like that actually works the way I want it to – I was looking for something streamlined, but not too plain, and with the kind of navigation I find intuitive, but I’ve given up for now and have settled on Misty Lake with a pale grey background and my own image in the header…

Whatever I did to Twenty Fifteen, including taking it off, trying another theme (or two) in the interim then applying it afresh all over again, I kept getting the same result – large font on some post titles, small font randomly on others, going all the way back to last June… Grrr…! My irritating perfectionist streak means little insignificant things like that bother me, keep nagging way at me, so disappointingly it had to go…

I’ve already given Sorbet a good run for its money, but I just feel like it’s time for a change. Of course, if I wasn’t such a broke cheap-skate then I might be happy enough to pay for a premium theme, but one way or another needs must, so I guess this one will have to do for now… and you never know, it might even grow on me in time 🙂

New Blog Theme…

Hmmm… I’ve revamped my blog theme today to Twenty Fifteen, and although most things seem to have migrated over correctly, I’m a bit confused about my post titles – some seem to be showing in the larger font (like this one) as expected, but quite a few seem to be showing in a smaller font, and I have no idea why?

I seem to have no way to edit this – I can choose to change the font in the body of the text, but not in the title – anyone have any ideas? I’ve looked online but advice seems to require accessing a menu option (appearance / editor) that is not available for me, so I’m a bit stuck…
