Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red…

There is an impressive sea of ceramic poppies on display at the Tower of London at the moment, in the form of a major art installation named ‘Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red’ designed in commemoration of the centenary of the First World War. poppies-wavePoppies-wallPoppies-volunteerPoppies-closePoppies-seaBetween 5th August and 11th November 2014, 888246 poppies are progressively being placed in the moat by volunteers, each poppy symbolising one British military fatality during the 1914-1918 War.
